Hi all,

I regularly write for SitePoint as I get on well with the editor and they're articles pages (last time I looked) run at PR6

I'm looking to diversify a little, where else is good to write about web related topics.

They must provide an author bio of course ;)

Cheers

Good post Nick_W and an interesting topic. I hope we can do this without dropping url’s or self-promoting. Perhaps discussing ways to seek out these opportunities without specifically mentioning a site. I hope through recommendations of how to find and then cultivate those relationships this would benefit the broader audience.

I know I always have a spreadsheet open when I’m researching, where I place url’s to sites that are potential spots I could place an article or potentially expand on that, creating relationships. In the real world we call it networking and online it’s called linking or building PR.

I would find it interesting to note what others feel makes a good site, worth the effort to build a relationship. What payoffs are worth the effort?

Hi Paynt,

For me the criteria is simple:

  • Good PR for articles pages: 5+
  • Author Bio
  • Able to request change of author bio
  • Editor that can polish my work into something even better ;)

I'm not sure about researching, I'm hoping for some suggestions from you guys...

Firstly, the SitePoint newsletters are excellent! Keep up the good work.

Secondly, take a trawl through DMOZ for online mags that would publish your writing.

Hope that helps!
