I recently posted a question on an open forum about a feature for my site. After a couple months my competitor site has this new feature that I had planned. My fault for mentioning it and not jumping on it right away.

Anyway, I have a fear that this same site will duplicate all of my site features. I have an event database that lists events for a niche sport. The data is viewable to anyone but I am worried they will duplicate my work and hurt my traffic.

Is there anything I can do to protect my site so others cannot duplicate it. I don't think there is, but thought I would ask. Now should they scrape my data and post it in their database, I will slap them with a DCMA so fast their head will swim.

Most of what you mentioned is in the public domain so any site can use those features. As far as the DCMA, your competition will take you more seriously if you call it by its proper acronym - DMCA :).
