Crown Copyright

Anyone "used" it?

Has anyone here had any experience of using crown copyrighted material here?

To quote use of this sort of material, it must be

subject to the material being reproduced accurately and not being used in a derogatory manner or in a misleading context.

To quote from somewhere else (both .gov uk sites)

Copyright is waived in this material to encourage its widespread use for reference and onward dissemination to all with interests in these areas.

So I am thinking, if I was ever going to build a UK regional directory, this information could be very useful, and that maybe someone else here has taken advantage of a possible wealth of "free information" that can be used in a website.

I have read around a few sites but the wording as always is a bit precarious so I wouldn't simply get a search spider and download any crown copyrighted information it comes across ;)

Hopefully I can gather a few stats and info for some content like populations of settlements, main roads, attractions in the area, phone codes etc......providing that I can get re-assurance I won't get busted for it :)

Have anyone of you came across it here at WW?

Because of the copyright issue I've never used the material directly, however, I have linked to stats at .gov sites.
