Is it worth sharing my content?

To get some exposure for my new site, I'm considering letting other webmasters use my original content on their sites, as long as they leave the content intact, acknowledge my copyright and provide a link back to me.

My site is new so virtually every other site linking to it will have a higher page rank. Is this going to hurt me in the rankings or are Google & friends smart enough to work out that because all the other sites link back to mine, mine is the authority on that particular peice of content?

I wouldn't allow anyone to use your original content, it's what keeps internet surfers coming back for more. If the search engines find the content on your web site first it should out rank the others with the same content for the keywords in it, but it doesn't always work that way. I suggest that you write new articles and allow them to use that, you could even re-word your articles and allow them to use it.
