Anyone know how I would go about getting database information for a directory.

Lets say I am building www.yourcity.com. I want the users of the site to have access to a yellow page/white page directory of the city- online.

Anyone experienced with this?

Thanks!

I don't have experience with this but am interested in this as well.

Here's a starting point:

There are several online yellow pages on the web. See which of them have a partner, affiliate, or linking program.

You will find many of them that will allow you to deep link to them, but I suspect you want to display directory search results on your own pages, so look for some that will allow that.

If you find some, post some specific names and there might be some people here who have had experience with them.

I have friends who built a city directory by hiring a bunch of very attractive college students to go call on small businesses and sell them inexpensive listings. Seems to have worked out.
