I am the webmaster of a site, and the owner wants to add enough articles to catch up with leader in our popular search terms. I have been working on the site for three months. I am adding about 10 a day to our site and we are currently #10 in the biggest search term and #8 in the second biggest. I know a general rule, is to add 1 page a day to maintain a good position for a site. I was wondering if me adding 10 articles a day, till we catch, up is shocking (hurting us) the search engines. On the flip side, if we cram them on now, and wait for our steady natural rise we will have more of an edge on the leader! Just asking for some general advice and opinions!

Shouldn't really matter, but don't take it from me. For some sites it makes sense to have 50 + new articles per day. For others, it doesn't. Depends on the industry, and type of site.

The bottom line is that you determine what is good for your site, your company, and your customers. Not a search engin.
