Forum Moderators: not2easy
Yet I don't want to be spending a lot of effort writing a good article then wasting it on not-so-good ezines or a substandard site hungry for free articles.
What place(s) do you think are trustworthy for sending my free article which I would exhert a lot of effort in writing and perfecting it?
We accept articles in one of my sites, but for every 100 or so article submissions, we publish only 1 or 2. There are so many crap articles out there from writers who think they have something interesting to say. Some will submit articles totally unrelated to the topic of the web site that you'd wonder if these writers actually know how to read.
Ask this question not in the Adsense forum but in the content and copywriting forum.
1. Develope articles for this purpose only. In other words don't use your MAIN content found on your site and don't put article that you will distribute (if you do don't allow crawlers) on your site.
2. Articles should contail lots of useful information but leave it open enough so that visitors will want to explore YOUR more detailed information.
3. Create different versions. Create 3 versions of the same content. In other words re-title and reword. Get those published and move to the next article and do the same.
4. A publisher will look at how green the content is. If the article is blasted all over the internet larger publishers, like myself, tend to avoid the article (If it suppliments and strengthens my current articles I may chance it). Many small timers will publish just about anything.
5. Change the by-line at to gain a range of anchor text. AND ONLY submit to publishers who let pagrank pass.
6. Use anchor text and links throughout the article and try to promote other areas of your site. These links are to get the reader to click to explore further on the subject on your site. We notice high click rates when this is done.
7. Get to know general publishers better yet niche publishers. Even if they are considered competition. Believe me this can be one of your greatest moves.
8. Write as if you are the main authority of the subject and as if you are well known and branded.
9. Be careful and read and understand TOS. Some publishers deman the RIGHTS to the article and submitting them you give up your rights.
10. Articles on newsletter work wonderfully. Be careful not to submit them to unethical newletters who tend to use spam techniques. It just may come back to haunt you.
11. Do not use HUGE images or tons of them. If you do keep them optimized.
12. Do not use excessive HTML. Things such as tables may interfere with the publisher's design so use % not pixel. Publisher tend to hate having to do excessive editing.
13. If you do use HTML then provide a text version and an HTML version.
This is just a few things to consider. These were just off the top of my head. I will post more as they come to me.
If you need more help or an explaination of why this can be a healthy step in your marketing plan I can write a book for ya!

Duplicated content filter. is that a tool for Google to catch Adsense publisher or what? Can you please explain it.
Search engines, like Google, look for duplicated content. If they see that multiple sites have the same content then one or more of those sites might get a penalty.
I have tested it over 4 sites, to see hwat happens, heres are the results.
Original site setup, crawled PR5 then used same content on the other 3 sites, identical, they also got a PR5 BUT when you ask to see the cached version it shows the original sites URL, none of the copy sites were penalised nor was the genuine site! they all get their own traffic and earnings in adsense.
Currently I am testing the 3 other sites, still using the same layout but re worded ALL text, currently waiting for the next crawl to see what happens.
I'm not sure if Google had dropped my pages from its SERPS due to 'duplicate' content or it had just initially indexed my site becase it was new (Google seems now to give a boost to new sites, unlike the previous sandbox effect which was present in the past).
Keep them and market myself? A good idea. So what better alternative for marketing myself do you suggest?
I don't think there is better alternative to marketing yourself.
If you have a medium for your articles, concentrate on SEO and orthox marketing and promotions, link building etc.
At least you have total control over your copy and you are not vulnerable to others using your articles for their own end.
It was frustrating for me too in finding where to submit my articles, but I have found a valuable resource that I highly recommend. It's called Article Submission Sites and you can find it at [articlesubmissionsites.com....]
They feature a categorized listing of over 400 submission sites. The listing is updated reguarly so you don't have to worry about outdated info. I always find new sites to submit my articles. The categories let me see quickly which publications are accepting articles about my topics.
Another benefit of Article Submission Sites is that it's a subscription members-only site, so that not everyone has access. I've gotten the heads-up on new submission sites that reach my target audience before other people know they're accepting articles.
This site also gives you all the info you need to be effective in using this method of marketing. It is truly affordable, downright cheap when you consider the alternatives to effective marketing. Using the strategies and practical advice, not to mention the free tools for members, I have taken my marketing to a new level.
In case you're wondering, that means I'm getting more traffic and making more sales. It's also helped me sell more to my existing clients. This resource has made writing and submitting articles an easy option that generates results. You'll really benefit from this if you're just starting out with this technique.
