hey guys

new to the forum, and even newer to apache.

currently i`m running a test server on this winXP machine, but will be moved to one of my linux machines - once it's all up and running.

just installed apache2.0 and tested it with 127.0.0.1 - comes up with the message about sucessfully being installed and setup. GREAT!

now it's running fine, where on earth do i put my site's content?

nice simple laymen's terms please. i am new.

thanks

Welcome to WebmasterWorld

Are you referring to storing content on the server?

i just found it.

i`m used to web servers set to pre-load index.htm.
i was using 127.0.0.1 and expecting it to auto fetch index.htm.

i SHOULD of been using 127.0.0.1/index.htm.

yes i was reffering to the actual site content. i couldnt work out how to show my pages, instead of the 'apache is installed and running properly' page.

i can see me spending alot of time asking questions here.

edit: and thanks for the welcome :)
