You usually get what you pay for. Personally, I would rather write one good original article than copy ten good articles from other places on the Internet.

Hit google.com and start searching.

"free content"
"free content for your website"
"free articles"
blah blah blah

Here's an idea: Decide on a topic. Lets say 'ballooning' just as an example. You would pick something more to your liking.

Go to the library. Ask the librarian if they have any books on your topic, that are in the Public Domain, expired copyright etc.
Ask her/his opinion if its OK to copy the content based on this.

Pick a book that falls within this group, OK to copy. Scan it page by page.
Edit out any scanner 'typos' (what is the proper term? Scanos?)

Make a web page out of each book page or two.
Link one to the next sequentially.

Bingo! Instant, (more or less) unique, informative, legal content.

Here's another idea: Find the most boring person you can think of.
Tell him/her (probably him) that you will put his life story onto the Internet!
There's only one catch: He has to type it in.
You do the coding, but that's the small part of it.

Instant content again. Nobody will want it of course, but that doesn't matter with made-for-adsense sites. -Larry

Hi,

Go to www.google.com and type the following words in the search box:
free your keywords content

Just remember to put the keywords of the topic on which you are looking for free content.

Example:If you are looking for marketing strategies, type in: free marketing strategies
