I was wondering if i need permission to put a press releases on my website about a few companies?

Im writing about a few companies in good nature and looking to publish the companies press releases from they're websites to my website. I plan on linking to each companys website but will i need to link to the press release as well?

The restrictions on press releases vary from company to company, and often differ between the company issuing the release and a press release distribution site as well.

If you are picking these up from the company directly, see if there are any restrictions listed. It's unlikely that a firm will object to your putting their release on your site, as long as it is presented in a positive and professional manner and isn't used to promote competing products. (Note that something as innocuous as running Adsense might irritate a company if they saw an ad they didn't like next to their content.) If you rewrite the release into a news story, you'll further protect yourself.

Even if you don't find any obvious restrictions listed, it's always safest to seek permission.
