Cant connect to internet w/ new kernel: QM_MODULES:Fnctn not implmntd

cant connect to internet with new kernel

Unable to connect to internet after installing kernel 2.6.3 from kernel.org, i ran

In the boot.log I have the follow unusual lines...

localhost network: Bringing up loopback interface: failed
localhost network: Bringing up eth0: failed

Also when I run
depmod -a
I get
demod: QM_MODULES: Function not implemented

I cant even ping webmasterworld.com

I think you need to install "module-init-tools". I'm not all that up to date on linux happenings, but that seems to be a common problem...

Kinda like the old mod-utils/bin-utils, I believe...
