Well, i just installed Gentoo Linux today, exactly like the howto on [gentoo.org...] and I used genkernel to compile my kernel (which took all friggen day :( ), and I created a root user password, and a day-to-day user, like the howto said. I can login as the root, but when i try to login as the normal user i get LOTS and LOTS of "modprobe: Can't locate module ..." errors and I get kicked off. Who command doesn't report that I am logged in either.

Please HELP ME!

Can you drop into single user mode and login?
