Guys please help me out, I am not a unix geek and this is not my area.

Google are reindexing and my site im told got hit by a power failure, then the ups failed, then it took 3 hours to get to the unix box. From here im told they did a disk scan and found the sectors corrupt.

I asked them to switch to back up all along and they held back. I was told the scan would take about 15mins, they said that my server was more priority than the backup.

I then asked them to replace the disk drive and was told it is not as easy as that (please can someone tell me how long this would take?) I got my site built on another server with a different IP address.

I told them DNS convergence time could alter my search engine ranking, now I have asked for NAT or IP forwarding to the new IP address. - On a unix box, how easy would it be to have a unix box dye after a power failure and then the ups and then it be so difficult to rebuild.

Feedback required ASAP! - My server is still down.
