GCC3.x Installation

Please guide me to upgrade the things

Hello I am newbie and iam using Redhat7.3 which has come up with buggy gcc2.6 version,I want to install KDevelop3 and for that i need to upgrade KDE to KDe3.1 and gcc to gcc3.x

i have got gcc source,i am used to of installing RPMs and dont have much idea about source Installation,when i got gcc3 Rpm then redhat prompts to install glibc2.x.x.x version and other things like Cpp3.x etc etc
justt ell me is gcc3.x source enough and have all above mentioned packages,so that i could install KDE newer version and then Kdevelop3

I would recommend upgrading to Red Hat 8 or 9 because 7.3 if memory serves is buggy as hell. I was using it but ended up reinstlling windows on my machine it was that bad.
