Xpilot [xpilot.org] was threatening my livelihood for a while until I deleted it from my hard drive, yet by far my biggest time suck has to be remastering Knoppix [webmasterworld.com].

What's your biggest source of unproductivity in the GNU/open source world?
Anyone here crazy enough to do LFS [us.linuxfromscratch.org]?

Never actualy suceeded in linux from scratch.

Once tried biolinux but could not get it to compile.

I think it would be awsome to be able to say. "this is my linux distro"

Yeah remastering Knoppix ( to create KnoppixKDE ) took quite a while, but running the Knoppix.net website takes a lot longer and is ongoing.

I think the biggest timesink is getting open source programs that have good descriptions on sourceforge, but aren't ready for primetime, working. Then you customize them. Then you realize it's not what you want. ;)

Without a doubt it has been the continuing search for a decent web design tool that comes close to Dreamweaver.

I am not really interested in the html v wysiwyg argument - (horses for courses, each to his own, etc )- its just about my personal productivity.

Getting a CD burner working properly. I've made a couple of attempts and still can't do a much needed system re-install because I can't burn backups ;-)
