I really like Mandrake. As a newbie friendly distribution and I think they have a great product. They are also very good about dealing with security updates IMO. If they went out of business is would be a sad thing for the Linux community.

That said...
From the outside it seems that Mandrakesoft is not able to adjust to the new economic realities. I'm sure they have what it takes to be a viable company if they could tighten their belt. Mandrake have a very active and loyal following.

I know some who donated money the first time they were in a pinch, who were very disappointed when they asked for a second donation.
