I'm having spikes in iowait occasionally. usually it goes to about 50%, sometimes as high as 95%. I've contacted my host, they said it was from logging. I turned logging off.
still getting it.
is there any easy way to tell which processes are the cause of this?

sounds like your machine is swapping or mysqld gets too busy. man vmstat
