I am preparing a new dedicated server
running RH entreprise.
PHP4.+ is installed
I am told that upgrading to 5 will work fine with my config, but they do not want to perform the upgrade for some sort of liability reason.

Plesk does not work with RH entreprise so I will use another CP named Turbo panel
I do not know yet if I will do it from the CP or FTP and editing files or?

Anyways would you please give me some guidance,
of course I will do it before starting moving any DN and going live!
Thanks

Anyways would you please give me some guidance,

Are pre-built PHP5 .rpm files available for RHEL? Do they come directly from RedHat or from a third-party?

If prebuilt and supported RPMs aren't available from RedHat, I think you're going to store up trouble for the future if you install PHP5.

Whatever you do, don't build from sources on a production server :-)

When the next critical vulnerability is discovered in PHP5, how were you planning to patch your server?

Well, in light of the added difficulties I did something else:
Spent more (I was going to decide in between 2 providers)
went for a provider that offer and support both RHE
and PHP5.
Thanks.
