I want that all emails received at 'myself@myemail.com' to be forwarded at 'myfriend@hisemail.com'.
Of course, messages received at 'myself@myemail.com' should stay in place.

Well, I've logged in as administrator, done 'cd /home/myself', then 'echo myfriend@hisemail.com >.qmail'.

From now one, the messages are indeed forwarded but they appear no longer in my Outlook Express' Inbox (it seems that they are forwarded and then deleted from my recipient!).

What should I do to prevent this?

You have 1 of the 2 required steps to forward as well as save a local copy.

In your .qmail file you have to enter 2 lines, the first being the forwarded address, the second being your default delivery command. If you use Maildir in your configuration, the .qmail file should contain:

&myfriend@hisemail.com
/home/myself/Maildir/

This may not work for all setups as qmail can be configured for in many different ways. You may need to modify the second line to reflect your setup.
