I have a testing server setup locally and I can connect the the specified shared home drive on the Linux Server from the Windows machines however when I try to delete, save or create files and folders I get an "Access Denied" error message.

Everything appears to be correct in Linux to allow full access to network users so I dont know what is happening.

Anyone got any advice?

Thanks

Oh the Linux OS is Mandrake 10.1

Have you got the user:group and flags of the files on it set to something who the samba user can't override?

I quite often move files about in ssh, and then have to do a quick -

chown -fR nobody:nobody *

before moving files about again via the samba share... (Make sure it's done inside the share dir, or use the path rather than "*")

The user is in the group "fileshare" which is the default to share the directory, I tried changing it to the user nobody but it didnt work :(

I could alternativly ftp into the machine but I dont know how to set that up lol.
