I just updated the Fedora Core 2 and I got a new kernel version. It added a new kernel image when i boot the system to choose between the new and the old. is there a way i can delete the old one?

Do you use grub or lilo? Basically you should be able to go into /boot/ and remove the files associated with that kernel and go into, for example if you use LILO, /etc/lilo.conf and remove the entry corresponding to that kernel. Then after editing that file type lilo at the command prompt. Then reboot and you won't see the option for the old kernel.
