Are hosted tracking sites (statcounter, Freestat) a waste of time. Is there one obviously better than another? What is most preferred?

Google Analytics is a lot of detailed info, easy to understand, at a very reasonable cost. It's free.

The site says you can only join by invitation only due to high demand. They've just sent out invitations on Jan 19. How often do they issue invitations?

I have found one feature in StatCounter to be very useful, the user path tracking. This is something that Google Analytics doesn't have and I have found very interesting.
