PNG support on IE (Mac)

Hi,
Is PNG image format supported on Mac versions of IE? If so, does it also support PNG images with alpha transparency?
What IE versions of Mac support PNG?

I read on the net that IE mac supports PNG images but when i tried to open a PNG image on Mac(IE5.2), it didn't open. what could be the possible reason?

[libpng.org...] is THE resource for current info on png compatibility... and IE Mac has generally been one of the most png compatible "major" browsers out there.

No idea why it wouldn't open your files though... did you get any error messages when you tried to open them?
