making simple banners

Hello,

I need a very simple program for designing small banners and to add words on images.
Any suggestions?

There are so many image editing programmes available to you that will be able to create banners

I can't reccommend one that might be more simple than another but as costs go you can't get better than free. GIMP [gimp.org] is a good free one.

I am a Macromedia Fan so find Fireworks does all I want - It has quite a steep learining curve but IMO any web developer worth his or her weight should be able to find there way around at least one image editing software program.

Photoshop and Paintshop Pro are also excellent packages.

Photoshop elements offer very cost effective option to the very expensive Full edition
