I just recently took about 4 pictures panoramic style (you know, standing in one place and turning a little at a time at each picture.) I want to combine these pictures to make one long picture in Photoshop 7. I am thinking I need to make them transparent first, then just lay them on top of each other, but I can't figure it out. How do I do it? Thanks!

Open photo #1. Open photo #2, select all, copy, paste into photo #1. It will create its own layer. Save photo #1. Repeat until all photos are pasted into the same file.

Change the canvas width, until you can "stretch out" the panorama to its full width. Then, you can select each layer and change it's opacity in the layers menu, and shift them around until they line up the way you want.

Blend the overlapping area into each neighboring layer. Lots of different ways to do that part: use a soft-edged eraser, the smudge tool, etc. You'll want to make the layers 100% opaque at the end, with the edges blended, so you can flatten it all into one layer and make a nice print...

<disclaimer>Never done a panorama, but that's how I'd go about it if I did...</disclaimer> Maybe someone with more experience has an easier technique. :)

The best way to get a clean panorama is to use stitcher software. There are a couple out there intended for use with Quicktime VR
