And now it seems he is a man of many logos... I think it's a switch from a public domain graphic to an original one?
Mostly to spread out the bandwidth and load hit. There are some really abusive browsers that request the graphic each and every time they need it (40 msgs in a thread - they'll request the profile and edit icons 40 times each).
It is also a slap to Mozilla that allows "no images from third parties" that was built to thwart advertising. I try to put most graphics on different servers from the domain just for that reason too.
