Cool Websites

I want to see some cool easy to navaigate websites.

I would like to know of a place on the web, where you can view search engine friendly, easy to navigate, and pleasing to the eye websites. Does anyone know of a website that showcases them? Or do you know of a website that you think kicks ass?

ebgreen - before we open the floodgates and get a bunch of promotional URL drops here I'd like to suggest that you go take a peek in the profiles of many of the members here and check out their sites. We have some of the best in the biz here. You'll learn a lot - guaranteed.

One of the only sites I know of that showcases website design principles WITH examples (though it is all BAD design....) is websitesthatsuck.com. Entertaining and educational.

oilman's profile links idea is also a very good one. There's a wide variety of GOOD design to be seen by visiting member sites.

Personally, I've seen a number of examples of mystery meat navigation that I really liked... but they were all on artsy, design-for-design's sake kinda sites, so I don't think that counts.

Nonetheless, a very good site to visit. Haven't looked at it in awhile myself, so I should go catch up on the latest atrocities in site design and graphics.

Finding sites that are good design is of course by its very nature a subjective operation. I am sure everyone here is building a folder of designs they like or think are good design or both.

But then it is always good to get other people opinions as well. The two sources mentioned above are two of the best and well worth a visit. Roaming around today I found another list of Cool Sites of the Day [coolsiteoftheday.com]. Again it is very subjective, some I like, some I don't, but what IS very interesting is that the list goes waaay back to 1995. Boy! You should see what we (webmasters collectively) were doing back then. Have a wander through.
