I've been using Photoshop 6.0 since it came out. It of course, is great stuff. But now the CS series is out and we also have CS2, the newest.

What am I going to get if I make the change to the new version? Will CS2 create RASTER graphics too?

Paul,

I think you may be confused, PS has always created raster graphics and for quite some time they have also allowed creation of vector graphics.

If you are using version 6, you are using a 5 1/2 year old product ( see [en.wikipedia.org...] ). The newest version (CS2, actually 9.0) has been out for a year.

The improvements over version 6.0 are way to numerous to mention. I'm not sure what the upgrade cost would be, but if you use it professionally, any price including the full pop retail price is worth it.

7 was a big improvement over 6 and CS had some cool features but it wasn't really that much better than 7. I got CS2 and it has some annoying usability changes that I am still getting used to. If you can just update to 7 and save some green, I would suggest that, otherwise make the leap, 6 is the dark ages.

I use CS2, and it is a big improvement from 6. I never used 7, but it took me a couple of days to get used to it, but overall, I am happy with it.

Cat you are correct - I meant Vectors, not Raster graphics.

Sounds like the concensus that it's worth making the change. will it do everthing that Fireworks Mx 04 does?
