High quality backgrounds

Hi,

Where can I find some modern, high-quality backgrounds for free?

I've been searching for ages! The only backgrounds that I can find look like they were made in 1998.

I'm not looking for backgrounds with patterns (houndstooth, stone, etc.), but for backgrounds that are well-suited for headers, menus, etc.
