I've created a batch for opening and then saving images with 16 colors and then closing. However after I go through a few files Photoshop 8 keeps saving the files with two colors! Is this a bug? Is the program just retarded? I've checked the export in the batch and it does indeed say "Number of colors: 16".

I just tried batching with your parameters: 16-color GIF Export. Tried it with both JPEGs and GIFs and it worked fine.

If that's the only parameter of the action, may I suggest deleting the action and re-creating it?

When I uninstalled and then reinstalled and it failed, I uninstalled and deleted photoshop out of the registry manually. As soon as I brought it up (after it complained about not having virtual memory as I so need such a thing with 2GB) I saw my previous batch...lovely. Deleted it and created a new batch. File open...opening files in the same path as the previous install? I'm not impressed with Adobe's uninstaller to say the extreme least.

I ran the batch again and STILL after all that Photoshop is being retarded. After all the time I've played with it I could have manually done this myself to all 300 images by now!

*Edit - I also deleted the preference folders in my windows user folder (docs and settings). Still...experiencing this retardation. :(

WOOHOO! I opened the files, created a batch, messed with the save for web options for half a minute changing everything, and just ran the batch on open files and it worked! :)
