Photoshop Tool

How does the clone tool work in photoshop. It does not pastes the same effect all over the place. I think it just adds on the lower layer. Any comments!

You hav to alt-click (mac - apple? click) to define the clone start point, then paint with it.

Its self cloning, so if your reference point drags over an area youve already painted the clone into, you will get a clone of that.

It works on whatever layer you have currently selected.
