Saving Space

Does the location of your graphics files make a difference?

I have a few subdirectories on my ecommerce site, using pages with a common template I created using a WYSIWYG editor. I have copies of the graphics used with the template stored in each subdirectory as well as in the main var/www/html directory. Would I be saving server space by having the graphics common to each page stored in one directory instead of replicated in each of the subdirectories? It seems to me I should be, but wanted to be sure.

yes you would save space by having them in a central loacation, that is generally the approach most people use (or should use) when using common/shared images
