Quicktime editing

I would like to edit Quicktime movies and as far as I can fathom Virtualdub does not work with this format. Am I correct on this? What I actually want to do - I have over a hundred Quicktime movies and I would like to cut the first 2 seconds and last 2 seconds out of all of them. So, am really looking for a script action. I really want to find some way around doing this manually. I have Adobe premiere but not delved into it much yet. Does it have a scripting action that I can use? Manually editing with Adobe Premiere seems to be slow and complicated. But maybe that is just me. I also have Quciktime Pro 7 which can be used for some manual .mov editing. But again - this editing is slow and tricky. I dont have a mac operating system unfortunatley and so cannot use applescript with my quicktime Pro - which would have been a nice scripting solution.

An easy way to do this (and relatively cheap at about $30) is to use QuickTime pro.

You can set an in & out point, then copy and paste the part of the movie you want into a new movie file -- no re-compression involved.

I don't know if a action like that is scriptable or not, but it would be pretty fast: Set in; set out; Cmd/Ctrl-C; Cmd/Ctrl-N; Cmd/Ctrl-V; save.

If you want an automated way to do this... your best bet is Cleaner by discreet

For pc - [www4.discreet.com...]

For Mac - [www4.discreet.com...]

You can batch a large amount of videos to have them all do the same thing, like remove the first 2 seconds and the last 2 secondsof a lot of videos all at once...

great product, been using it on a Mac for about 5 years.
