Does anyone know a free (perhaps open source) tool that will convert quicktime movies to other movie formats eg. mpeg, wmv etc.. Very grateful.

You don't want to convert from Quick Time format, it is the only player that is cross OS compatible. I dispise WMP or RM formats regardless of the fact that I use a PC.
