"Drawing" Mouse Pads?

Hello everyone. I'm really much better at actually drawing figures, etc. than I am at using a mouse for graphics, and drawing-and-scanning is unfortunately not an option (we are working with hi-resolution video, about 1,000 frames).

I was wondering if there is any "mouse pad"-type hardware that can be patched in to a computer as a "mouse pad" where the computer automatically moves the mouse according to where the stylus is (and "clicking" when the user has the mouse on the "pad"). What are these called and where can I find one?

They're called graphics tablets.

And you can buy them from PC World, Staples "and other good computer hardware stockists", expect to pay upwards of £100 sterling for a domestic quality tablet, and far more for a "professional" quality one. Check the hardware compatability, and if possible get a demonstration and check software compatability.

Personally, I use the Wacom Intuos 6X8. The pen works great... it's pressure sensitivity is adjustible, so it really comes close to feeling like a real pencil. The tablets are worth it!
