I created a file with 7 frames from GIF images all in RGB format. As usual, I sent them to ImageReady to create a very simple animation. The animation works great inside ImageReady. But my problem is there is no option to save in GIF format. When I click on "save optimized as", the only choice it gives me is .jpg. I must have some setting a little off. Why won't it let me save to GIF format so my image works on the web?

have you actually tried saving it? imageready (for me ) often shows .jpg in the drop down even when ive set my optimisation to .gif. When i actucally save, its all fine.

Just tried it but .jpg doesn't keep my animations. It even gives me a little warning saying it won't keep animation.

NO I didn't! And that fixed it. Thank you I tell you the simple things I overlook.

Thanks again, this banner was due in an hour and you saved me.

thank you!
this have been driving me nuts for a while now.
truthfully, i'd never used the optimization pallette. just import from adobe, save as optimized and was on my way. this happened to me once before and i just gave up and redid the entire gif. but this time i was working on a slice with a webcam in it and i refused to rebuild. you saved me so much time. thank you thank you thank you!
:D
