I'm designing an application form for my client on PageMaker 7.0. The document is in Tabloid size with 2 pages on each side. But the problem is I only have a regular laser printer at home that can only print letter-sized docs. So as you may expect, the doc got cut off on the print.
I wouldn't mind if the printer cut the doc by printing only the left half or the right half on the document -- I could just tape the two to get the full-sized print. But the thing is the printer prints the middle part of the doc! So I got half of the left half and half of the right half. Isn't it weird?
So is there a way I could tell PageMaker to print the full left half or right half of the doc?
Thanks.
If you already have the document laid out as a size that doesn't fit exactly to 8.5 x 11 "sections" you can:
- click Print
- click Options button
- set Scale to 100%
- check off Printer's Marks
- check off Tile (and Auto / overlap)
- click Print button
It should print a pile of paper with registration / cut marks on them... You can piece them back together by lining up the marks. If that works, great! If not, you will need to fool with the layout and printer settings more.
I suggest trying this with 1 side of 1 page before printing a multi-page / 2-sided publication.
