please how can i make rounded edges on a rectangular image in photoshop? i want to use it for my web site. i have searched through the site and practised some of the techniques have seen but can't seem to get it right.must be missing something. can somebody give me a step by step tutorial please? i'm new to photoshop.Thanks.

  1. Use selection tool
  2. Set feather to ~ 5-7 (play around with it)
  3. Select the part of the image you want to use
  4. Invert the selection (Shift+Ctrl+I)
  5. Press "Delete" on your keyboard
  6. Invert again
  7. Image -> Crop

is you are using photoshop 6 or above - just switch to imageready (photoshops webfriendly 'lil brother)

there is a 'rounded rectangle selection' tool, which lets you adjust the rounding of the corners. use this to select the bits of the image you want to keep, use >select > inverse and hit delete.
