Syncing Audio to Video in Elements

Adobe Premiere Elements audio/video sync

Hi Folks

I am using Adobe Premiere Elements and trying to sync up an audio with a video but I can only get it so close. The vocal is slightly behind the video.

I disabled snap under timeline/snap but the timeline still snaps not allowing me to manual shift the audio forward or backward to a precise point in the movie.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks
Dave

I use Vegas to do this sort of thing and it is real easy to do with that software. To move the audio or video track fractionally, I have to zoom in untill I can see the individual frames, that way I can move it by 1 frame if I need to. I would think that it should be similar with Adobe software, but I won't use Premiere nowadays as it only runs on XP.

Yes I zoomed in at max but still only with snap to timeline. I need to freely move between the timeline.

Thanks

Can you insert markers in your software? If you can, you could set a marker slightly before or after the beginning of the tracks, then set it to snap to markers and move the audio or video track to it. It would be the long trial and error approach, as you'd have to repeat the process till you get it right, but it may be a way round your problem.
