Generating professional street maps

Directional maps on web sites... Copy/pastes from Mapblast or Yahoo maps look so unprofessional. Where can I generate slick looking ones, where it only names the necessary streets, etc.

Pretty tall order, but there are option out there. One I know of is ArcView and it's pricy!

Another option is to download and parse the Tiger Files [census.gov](US only) and build your own graphical front-end. Another tough task!

Another decent-looking choice(and free!) is MapServer [mapserver.gis.umn.edu]
