Hi folks

Can I get some good recommendations on...

1. A good DVD Ripper [unless I can get a good reliable one for free] but we will buy no problem. One that can convert preferably to avi but other formats are kool too.
2. A DVD Duplicating Machine

Thanks for further help guys.

If you have an unprotected DVD, you don't actually need a Ripper/Converter as you can edit the video objects by demuxing them. If you are asking about decryption? then that's a different ballgame and I can offer no advice.

Yes we are basically ripping our own materials from DVD. They are sent to me from another State and my job is to rip them or as you said demux. I will appreciate the steps in how to do that.

BTW I was sent a DVD from a company that had their product done on DVD but TMK I had to rip it which did work however but if I can do it another way fine.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks
Dave

Ah, I see. Well you need to get yourself a demultiplexing bit of software and they don't cost anything. Go to videohelp dot com and you'll find many, and I suggest that you download a few as some are more reliable than others. Then what you have to do is run it on your .vob files that you can copy from the DVD if it's unprotected, and this will break it into seperate video and audio files, usually .m2v and .ac3. You can stick this back together as a mpeg (DVD settings) and it's ready to be edited or burned, but you don't really want to go back to .avi as it's more a container than a codec.
