hi all,

i am wanting to put some music up on a site. nothing super fancy, just an mp3 or realplayer/wmp file.
not unlike how it happens on amazon to listen to a clip from a song.
having had a look how amazon do there ones, it seems that they have a simple anchor lonked to a file somewhere, the difference is, that when i do this, the file doesnt open in the same way.
im guessing this may be to do with HTML header for the page, that make the file open up in .. realplayer, wmp etc.
but try as i might, i cant seem to find any info on this.
i have done asp opening up excel with a header application type blah blah. is there a similar thing to realplayer/wmp?

have you looked at their link to see how they put it together?

do they just embed it in a popup or something?

hi jatar,

having had a look at the html, the amazon links are simple anchors..
linking to amazon.com/exec/somerandomnumberthing/anotherseeminglyrandomnumber :-)

so im guessing, as the file, opens up in wmp / rp by itself, and when i try to do that with a plain anchor, it doesnt work the same. which is what led me to believe that a specific header is what is being used?

any help much appreciated.

cheers,

nat
