How do you do it in Photo Shop

I have no idea how you make a drop shadow or other "frames" around a photo using Photo Shop.

I know this is basic web master stuff ... but I have no clue and really need to know a.s.a.p.. Can anyone help? I am using a Mac and Photo Shop 6.0.1

To make things more difficult ... can a clour be added to the shadow?

To put a frame or border around a picture in photoshop all you need to do is select the whole picture (ctrl + A). Then choose select > modify > border. Then a box pops up and you can choose how wide the border will be. Then the selection will be highlighted and you can fill it with the desired color.
