Batch processing multiple files in Photoshop

How to create an action that merges 2 image files

I have a set of 2000 images that need the following treatment.

I need to pick 2 images at a time, place them in adjacently in a new file and save it in a new folder. Repeat for the next set of two images. The actions in Photoshop process each file in the folder, so it does not work for me.

Any way out?

I am not sure you will find a command that will run what you want direct from a image editor. As you have found they can only process within the application so couldn't run a batch cycle for two different images - only on a folder where the input is a single image. Perhaps is might be worth asking this in the general forum too see if there is a programming solution.

It sounds to me you need to process two separate directories in the same Action. That's a tough one.

Have you tried: [studio.adobe.com...]
The Adobe Studio Exchange is filled with thousands of free Actions and the forum is frequented by Adobe employees giving top notch advice.
