secure ftp in DW causes fireworks to load images slowly

just set up a new site that requires secure ftp, and is defined as such in DW.

when opening an image from this site in fireworks, it takes _a long time_ to open, and then asks for the password. putting in the ftp pass as defined in DW allows the image to open.

any one know of a way to a) speed up reading the images, or preferably b) turn the requirement for a password off altogether.?

Similar issues here with contribute. Stoppped opening images Via DW and opened them directly from FW - solved the problem.

hmm. we tried that one limbo but no joy :(

its a funny one. it would probably work if DW wasnt running, but having the two so closely integrated is one of the good things (so i hear - i much prefer imageready, but some of my colleagues swear by FW. horses for courses i guess :))
