Does anyone know the legal details about using a map from either Mapblast or Mapquest on my website? I want to have a map for my customers to see. I checked their legal disclaimers which don't seem to address this situation specifically.

You are not allowed to use MapQuest map legally.

However, it's ok to copy a MapQuest map and trace it in Illustrator.

I can't speak for Mapblast though. But I can almost gaurantee it's not legal to use their copyrighted content.

Look harder :).

Reproduction of any MapQuest or TravelGuide USA material is strictly prohibited. Permission to use all documents and related graphics and any other material from this World Wide Web server is subject to the following Terms and Conditions.

MapQuest does allow you to link to maps on their site, but not to copy the map image and serve it from your own site (www.mapquest.com/solutions/product.adp?page=linkfree ).

MapBlast doesn't exist any more, as it was purchased by Microsoft several years ago. The technology is still available as MSN Maps, which are covered under the MSN license:

All contents of the MSN Web Sites are Copyright ... All rights reserved.... Any rights not expressly granted herein are reserved
It doesn't look like they have a licensing program, you need to talk to a rep at 1-800-426-9400, ext. 11315.
