Photoshop - Could not initialize program..

Anyone know why I am getting this error when I try to open PS? This just came up suddenly.

does it say which file is locked?

nope, the wierd thing is it was working earlier. The only thing we did was load some actions.

thats the one thing that pisses me off about photoshop
i assumed u could open a pic and work on it
but i have to copy the pic into a new file just to work on it that gets me everytime i use it

ok, now it looks like it might be trying to open scratch disk to a location that is not allowed to write to.

Yup, after deleting the user preferences, it now opens. Will be changing the scratch disk setting. So there you have it, thanks for the help.

i like a separate partition for all my scratch disk stuff including my windows virtual mem - have you tried even just rebooting?

reboot did not work. so after setting up a better preference it works now.
