Illustrator sliced image web template transparency problem

sliced html template won't show transparent background in Dreamweaver

Hello,

I have made a website background in Photoshop and then sliced the modules up in Illustrator.

I want the background area outside of the content modules slices to be transparent but it WON'T WORK when I open it in Dreamweaver MX 2004. The background of the modules remain white, not transparent, so I cannot see throught to the page background.

I tried a save as web and saved it as a GIF/Trasparent but that did not work.

How can I save a sliced Illustrator html template to have a trasparent background outside the module slices I made?
