Effects programs for banners and intros

I'm looking for a program with effect for making banners and intros. I've been using Ulead GIf animator but the effects only go so far. They're appeal only laxts so long.

Sounds like you are wanting to create more complex animations than you can realistically produce with animated gifs. Flash is the obvious choice for well optimised web movies.

Have a look at the macromedia website - it'll have all the info you need on flash. Word of warning though, it has a steep learning curve - if you choose to buy it, get a very comfy chair ;)
