What is the best way to offer higher resolution (greater than 72dpi) printouts to the average internet user? We're offering printable topograpical maps and would like to print close to 150dpi for clarity. Is there a programing option to have the Internet Explorer print button "read" the image size info from a jpg and print out at a resolution greater than 72dpi? If not, I'm thinking a pdf version is probaly my best option and wondered if anybody knows what percentage of internet users already have Adobe Acrobat?

tomski47777 - welcome to WebmasterWorld. I would second your own thoughts about using PDF.

Adobe may have some stats on their web site. I would guess it is a very high percentage.

You can save your JPEG with 150 dpi resolution. And users can print directly from that web page. But PDF would provide the best reproduction as printing a JPEG can be unpredictable with all the different printers on the market.
